In the last few weeks, Obama has handed out dozens of permissions for oil corporations to continue their corrupted operations. Meanwhile…

This is all in addition to the fact that this event may have been by design within BP…

“A category III hurricane with winds between 111 and 130 miles per hour could blow coastal water as much as 12 feet above normal, according to a Coast Guard hurricane readiness plan.

Such storm surges “may carry oil into the coastline and inland as far as the surge reaches,” according to an information sheet from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, which forecasts weather in addition to other duties. NOAA predicts a 70 percent chance that 14 to 23 named storms, including as many as seven major hurricanes, will form in the Atlantic in the next six months. The seasonal average is 11 named storms and two major hurricanes.”

“A prominent Houston attorney with a long record of winning settlements from oil companies says he has new evidence suggesting that the Deepwater Horizon’s top managers knew of problems with the rig before it exploded last month, causing the worst oil spill in US history. Tony Buzbee, a lawyer representing 15 rig workers and dozens of shrimpers, seafood restaurants, and dock workers, says he has obtained a three-page signed statement from a crew member on the boat that rescued the burning rig’s workers. The sailor, who Buzbee refuses to name for fear of costing him his job, was on the ship’s bridge when Deepwater Horizon installation manager Jimmy Harrell, a top employee of rig owner Transocean, was speaking with someone in Houston via satellite phone. Buzbee told Mother Jones that, according to this witness account, Harrell was screaming, “Are you fucking happy? Are you fucking happy? The rig’s on fire! I told you this was gonna happen.”

Whoever was on the other end of the line was apparently trying to calm Harrell down. “I am fucking calm,” he went on, according to Buzbee. “You realize the rig is burning?”

“The Deepwater Horizon is not the only well leaking oil into the Gulf of Mexico for the last month.

A nearby drilling rig, the Ocean Saratoga, has been leaking since at least April 30, according to a federal document.

While the leak is decidedly smaller than the Deepwater Horizon spill, a 10-mile-long slick emanating from the Ocean Saratoga is visible from space in multiple images gathered by Skytruth.org, which monitors environmental problems using satellites.”

“The compounds in different TPH fractions affect the body in different ways. Some of the TPH compounds, particularly the smaller compounds such as benzene, toluene, and xylene (which are present in gasoline), can affect the human central nervous system. If exposures are high enough, death can occur. Breathing toluene at concentrations greater than 100 parts per million (100 ppm) for more than several hours can cause fatigue, headache, nausea, and drowsiness. When exposure is stopped, the symptoms will go away. However, if someone is exposed for a long time, permanent damage to the central nervous system can occur. One TPH compound (n-hexane) can affect the central nervous system in a different way, causing a nerve disorder called “peripheral neuropathy” characterized by numbness in the feet and legs and, in severe cases, paralysis. This has occurred in workers exposed to 500–2,500 ppm of n-hexane in the air. Swallowing some petroleum products, such as gasoline and kerosene, causes irritation of the throat and stomach, central nervous system depression, difficulty breathing, and pneumonia from breathing liquid into the lungs. The compounds in some TPH fractions can also affect the blood, immune system, liver, spleen, kidneys, developing fetus, and lungs. Certain TPH compounds can be irritating to the skin and eyes.”

NEW UTTERLY MASSIVE OIL PLUMES DISCOVERED

There really is NO good news coming out of the Gulf right now. This is perhaps the worst: evidence of more immense undersea oil plumes miles from the Deep Horizon site. We can only speculate that this is either a much larger release from the well we know of, signs that the well-head actually blew out, or a completely different leak. - Take your pick. Remember oil is heavier than water, so 90-some percent of this toxic shit is deep underwater, not visible (yet) from the surface.

DEMAND A MORATORIUM ON ALL OFFSHORE DRILLING.

What do we get from this article?

Somebody knew what BP was up too, didn’t they? The sale of 4,680,000 shares, or 44% of their overall BP investment in the weeks before the DeepWater Horizon spill began is quite a COINCIDENCE.

Fabrice Tourre, an infamous Goldman trader known for his sadistic humor, apparently wrote in an email released by his girlfriend “goodbye little birdies and fishies,” in a reference to stock bets he had made that may reveal knowledge of a coverup of an already existing spillage, or the expectation that there would be one any day.

I think we’re just getting acclimatized here to the fact that the Gulf is dead for generations. Period. All these ridiculous charades they’ve been parading around as solutions have NEVER WORKED. “Top Hat” - has NEVER WORKED, “Top Kill” - has never worked on a well even near this size or depth, “Junk-Shot” has definitely NEVER WORKED, EVER. Now They’re drilling a relief well - which is also not a sure thing. The fact is that they could easily miss, and even a successful relief well could fail to relieve all the oil coming out at such high pressures.

“June 2 (Bloomberg) — BP Plc’s failure since April to plug a Gulf of Mexico oil leak has prompted forecasts the crude may continue gushing into December in what President Barack Obama has called the greatest environmental disaster in U.S. history.

BP’s attempts so far to cap the well and plug the leak on the seabed a mile below the surface haven’t worked, while the start of the Atlantic hurricane season this week indicates storms in the Gulf may disrupt other efforts.”

FEDS OPEN CRIMINAL PROBE OF BRITISH PETROLEUM

Remember: BP is the largest single donor to the Democratic Party and receives billions of dollars in federal contracts every year. In light of this information, I’d be surprised if these bought and paid for politicians bite the hand that feeds them.

“PORT FOURCHON, La. – Attorney General Eric Holder said Tuesday that federal authorities have opened criminal and civil investigations into the nation’s worst oil spill and BP lost billions in market value when shares dropped in the first trading day since the company failed yet again to plug the gusher.”

Hurricane Season: The Oil is Headed Up the East Coast

“Larry Crowder, a professor of marine biology at Duke University, said if the spill continues for a couple more months, then oil almost certainly would get into the Loop Current that flows clockwise around the Gulf. It then would be a week to 10 days before it got to the Florida Keys, and a couple of weeks more before the Gulf Stream carried it to North Carolina.”

“Any hurricane and its accompanying storm surge also could drive oil onto land, even into the rice and sugarcane fields that aren’t far from the coast in Louisiana, said James H. Cowan Jr., a biological oceanographer at Louisiana State University.”

FYI: This article underestimates the amount of oil. Their guesstimate is way below that of other scientists.
